Placemaking
Placemaking is an idea that was first conceived in the 1970s by architects and planners to describe the process of re-creating public spaces that are open, accessible, and family-friendly. As a concept, it is quickly becoming an important topic of discussion where parents and other stakeholders are becoming concerned about the health, well-being, and sense of connection that exists within a community.
Conceptually, people often identify Placemaking with elements of healing, emotion, or a sense of belonging; a spiritual and physical connection that is sometimes hard to define, but is no less part of the desired end result, offering a true human experience that connects with the community and the environment.
